Our Roots

At Masswood, timber runs in our veins, branching out from a family tree deeply rooted in the construction, forestry and joinery industries that spans over half a century. We’re not just familiar with timber; we live and breathe it, celebrating its natural, beneficial and enduring beauty and limitless possibilities.

Just as a forest starts with a single seed, every great creation begins with an idea—nurtured, cultivated, and brought to life with passion and expertise. Truett and Eva Dellow, in collaboration with Eva’s father, Ron Gattone, embarked on their journey into mass timber in 2019 with the establishment of Curvwood, a specialised Glulam manufacturing facility renowned for its expertise in crafting curves.

While creating curved glulam remains a cornerstone of the team’s endeavours, it’s the commitment to innovation and growth that has propelled the business forward. Through significant investments in cutting-edge European machinery and the relocation to a larger facility, Masswood’s manufacturing capabilities have soared to new heights.

Masswood stands at the forefront of sustainability and ecological responsibility. Beyond oﬀering environmentally friendly products, we are dedicated to a larger mission that resonates deeply with our personal values. Together, we strive to not only meet but exceed expectations, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.

Our Why

Even with over 50 years of experience and credentials as a Master Builder, timber merchant, joiner, a deep understanding of various timbers and timber construction, I find that there is always more to learn. Each project brings new challenges to solve, and every customer offers a unique opportunity to collaborate and create something exceptional. My mission in life is to powerfully influence every person I interact with in a positive way. I love seeing people achieve, grow and reach their maximum potential. I know that anything is possible if you sincerely believe it. This belief is one of the reasons Glulam appeals to me, because with Glulam, there are no limits — the only limit is one's imagination.

I have always enjoyed giving my all in whatever I do and I firmly believe that by following my passion I keep moving forward and focused on what’s important. I love everything about timber—the look, the smell, the positive effect it has on people and our environment. I also enjoy tackling problems and finding solutions. While I was taught to be business-minded, it's incredibly rewarding to blend business with creativity and environmental consciousness. When evaluating a project, I believe it's crucial to have the necessary conversations to address specific needs. It's about facing challenges and finding the best possible solutions. I thrive on problem-solving and coming up with efficient and smart solutions.
